About

I’m a Berlin-based broadcast journalist with a specialist knowledge of German history, politics and culture. My work has aired on National Public Radio, 3sat Kulturzeit, ZDF heute journal and RBB Kulturradio. I started out in classical music broadcasting and then spent the best part of a decade covering international film festivals in Berlin, Venice and Cannes. These days my work focuses on current affairs and broader socio-political issues but in addition to breaking news, I still produce longer-form, sound-rich stories and arts pieces. I also co-host the Stiftung Wissenschaft & Politik podcast and have produced and hosted podcasts for the Heinrich Böll Foundation. Beyond journalism, I am a published academic author and give guest lectures on radio history, sound and technology. I am currently researching the future of radio and public broadcasting in an age of fragmentation and distraction.
